( MSSP Website ) Australian Catholic Bishops Conference Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne Australian Catholic University Migration Museum - In June 2001 the Migration Museum Committee in collaboration with the Migration Museum, announced the launch of the website. The aim of this site is to " collect information relating to issues of interest to migrants and migration." Among the various sections in the site one can find a section on the historical aspects of the Maltese migratory movements that includes the first three chapters of an interesting publication, "The Safety Valve" by Fr. Lawrence E. Attard. The Statistics section is very well presented and one can get a quick indication of the post-war migration to and from Canada, UK and the USA. This site remains a work in progress but a lot of material is already available. visitmalta.com - The new Malta Tourism Authority website registered an impressive 4.8 million hits between 9 and 30 November 2001. The website has been visited by almost 28,000 visitors, viewing an average of eight pages each. On average, there were 168,214 hits and 145,563 file downloads per day during November. Visitmalta.com is a content-rich site aimed at inspiring visitors to browse, as well as ensuring that they find what they want as quickly as possible. The new site allows visitors to interact with the information in several ways. Site users can call up information stored in MTA databases on such services as car hire, restaurants, hotels and even yacht marinas. Visitors can also personalise their site browsing. Two key features enabling this are tailored email newsletters and the "My Malta" personal travel folder that saves the pages visitors are interested in for reading or printing out later. Other innovations include an Interactive Map and a homepage that refreshes upon entry. A facility whereby visitors may catch a glimpse of Malta through a web cam will also be incorporated in the very near future.
